When I was a teenager, I saw a movie which a mother asked for her son’s forgiveness. The mother was so busy, so she neglected her son, the mother was humble enough and said “sorry” and promised to make up for the time she missed for her son.
I was watching that movie with a friend, and told him right after that specific scene, “It is good for a parent to say sorry to their kids”.
My parents never said “sorry” for their mistakes and broken promises. My relationship with my parents are practically in the okay or good level. But deep inside me was a person wishing it could have been better if my parents were humble enough.
Although, now I no longer dwell on their past mistakes, I’d rather practice what they missed when I’ll have kids of my own in the future.
