Rocky Balboa Review

Sunday, April 1st, 2007

I just finished watching Rocky Balboa about an hour ago.

I have one word for it: Boring. Nevertheless, i do admire the intention of the movie, and that is basically to go against the odds that we as humans encounter, to fight the unhelpful traditional beliefs.

Stallone just isn’t yet at the level with other good Hollywood directors. He needs to polish his directorial skills. I sensed that the movie was done in haste.

Rocky’s african undisputed heavyweight opponent should have workedout together with the 300 spartans cast. Rocky has better body sculpt than the black guy.

The previous Rocky movies was much better in my opinion.

Please Don’t Watch Tagalog Movies!

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

The title maybe a bit harsh especially if you’re part of showbusiness in Manila, or you feel insulted if you’re a frequent tagalog movie watcher.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m an avid supporter of everything positive connected to the Philippines. Things like Manny Pacquiao, sports, Philippine Football Team, close family ties. BUT Filipino / Tagalog movies? A BIG NO!

Watching a tagalog movie is a waste of money and time.

I watched Super Noypi in the first week of January out of curiousity to check if the special effects in Philippine movies have improve. What a disappointment. It was like when i was 7 years old during the 80s watching crappy tagalog movies with crappy special effects.
