Irony of Respecting the Other Country's Laws, but Hate our Own

I posted a news article about a Muslim woman being punished for adultery by stoning to death, and I criticized it.

Then a friend said, “It’s their law, we just have to respect it.”

I find it really ironic when some people will say “it’s their law, just respect it”, but shout to the heavens and make fun of some laws here in our own country.
