How could a far away NBI branch located in Malabon conduct a raid to a legitimate and legal but controversial company in Pasig?
On the night of January 22, the special action force of NBI raided the office of iWebmasters.com and its sister company Parwati for the fourth time or fifth, or I think it was third. My apology, but I lost count! Anyway, this time, it was done by another department of NBI. Still with the same corrupt intention, and that’s to extort money.
Last year though, the harassment was done by CIDG, another honest branch of the Philippine’s police force.
I heard it straight from the iWeb admins, our beloved hardworking police force wanted 5 million pesos in exchange for the 155 computers they will seize.
At the start of the fake raid at around 9pm, they were roving the entire 5 th floor of Tycoon building in Ortigas Center where the offices of iWeb and Parwati are located. Our sincere police were advising the employees to get their personal stuff. It was a good advice though since in the previous raids, our demented Filipino cops were stealing some of iWeb’s employees’ cellphones, money or anything valuable that they thought could add to their side income.
In the January 22 raid, I was shoved by an arrogant and shameless NBI operative after the I wanted to lock my computer’s monitor, in Windows, buy clicking Ctrl and L, but i still mildly insisted of locking my PC since my hand is already on the keyboard. The shameless cop, just did what he thought was always right. The helpless me just took a good look at the angry cop. A few of the lady employees were also terrified by the incident.
What the shameless and arrogant cop did to me was similar to typical criminals’ behavior that haunt the buses in Metro Manila. If a victim resisted or refused to give his cellphone or wallet, he gets punched or worst killed. Shameless indeed, he was there to steal a businessman’s money, and he had the nerve to harass.
The iWebmasters.com representatives arrived to negotiate with the licensed criminals. And just like in the previous disturbances, iWeb and Parawati is now doing normal operations after a successful negotiation.
Recently, Manny Pacquiao and Charice Pempengco brought honor and pride to the Philippines, but these wayward and shameless Philippine police agents do their disgraceful deeds in a deliberate or unintentional attempt to ruin what others had built for the country.
On a positive note, I have compassion on these insane cops, especially the one who shoved an employee. Their side income is not something to be proud of at all. I hope they can find something praiseworthy and noble.
