I just finished watching Rocky Balboa about an hour ago.
I have one word for it: Boring. Nevertheless, i do admire the intention of the movie, and that is basically to go against the odds that we as humans encounter, to fight the unhelpful traditional beliefs.
Stallone just isn’t yet at the level with other good Hollywood directors. He needs to polish his directorial skills. I sensed that the movie was done in haste.
Rocky’s african undisputed heavyweight opponent should have workedout together with the 300 spartans cast. Rocky has better body sculpt than the black guy.
The previous Rocky movies was much better in my opinion.
I only knew weeks ago that a local awards event such as this intended for blogs and its authors. Though it placed an interest in me of attending the said event, but for some reason i altogether forgot about it.
Then an officemate who is into blogging asked me if i wanted to go to 2007 Philippine Blog Awards, all of a sudden my interest woke up from its slumber for many weeks.

Proud that I am of my first language which is Cebuano, I would like this language to be known to everyone, and spur interest to those who aren’t familiar about it. For that matter, I will be devoting a page solely for learning Cebuano. You can click English – Cebuano page for updates.
Note:
I will only put which doesn’t have a tagalog equivalent. Tagalog is one of the official languages in the Philippines, the other one is English.
For example:
English – Cebuano
Monday – Lunes – Lunes is no longer necessary since it has an equivalent in tagalog.
Sunday – Dominggo – In tagalog, it’s Linggo. That would be the last tagalog word here. Remember, this is exclusively for English – Cebuano learning *winks*.
Before I start, I thank and give credit to C.S. Canonigo, the writer of the book English – Cebuano Made Easy. I purchased the book at Book Sale. I based this tutorial on that book.
Ok, let’s start!
Pronuciation guidance:
a can be pronounced as a in alamo
u can be pronounced as o in ursula
i can be pronounced as e in illiterate

King Xerxes, the bad guy in the movie 300 is not just a character to make the film exciting. This guy was as famous as our modern equivalent evil rulers that we all love to hate, such as Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Ferdinand Marcos etc.. Xerxes was so renowned that he filled practically all the world history books including the Bible, my much loved book. Although in the Bible, Xerxes is not portrayed as the modern Hitler, but the king’s assistant named Haman, whom the Bible described as “the enemy of the Jews.†Read MORE… »
Want to make a living online? This is not a get rich quick scheme just in case you’re looking for one.
There are a lot of money-making avenue around the internet, some are legitimate and some are the exact opposite. So how to avoid the latter? Based on my own experience is I join community forums for webmasters, affiliates, web designers. I read news sites, blogs, articles. Lastly, certainly not the least: Google, there you can find practically everything about sites that offer you ways to earn dollars, in the same way, you can search for greedy, selfish scam sites that will do nothing, but purge all of your savings.
First that i would recommend is Read MORE… »
Though, I still have to read 300 pages more before I could call it done. But what spurred my interest to read is the “highlights†found in page 41, I will quote a few: Read MORE… »
This is an inspirational video of an autistic basketball player, an unlikely teammate as most of us would think.
People in Manila have a notion that they are the center of correct accent and right pronunciation.
But the longer I stay in the capital city of the Philippines, the more it revealed to me that Metro Manila is too a cradle of funny and erroneous pronunciations.
If you’ve been born in Manila or Luzon, this is for you. If you’re a promdi (from the province), this is a guide for you not to mimic the tagalogs’ pronunciation blunders.

*Because of the popularity of the sport, this error has spread throughout the country.
I therefore conclude that the tagalogs/Luzonians have been fed with erroneous english pronunciations all along.

I can do great things or as a bonus become famous because of the things that i do, but still following the principle below taken from Proverbs 30:7-9 :
There are two things, Lord,
I want you to do for me
before I die:
Make me absolutely honest
and don’t let me be too poor
or too rich.
Give me just what I need.
If I have too much to eat,
I might forget about you;
if I don’t have enough,
I might steal
and disgrace your name.
This ad has been pulled out by Masterfoods inc, the maker of Snickers chololate bar. Gays and Lesbian group in the US were offended by its message.
According to a gay group leader that “That Snickers, Mars and the NFL would promote and endorse this kind of prejudice is simply inexcusable.”
The two guys in the ad did not even “kissed” , their lips just accidentally touched, but even barely. Some people just want to make an issue on trivial things.
The title maybe a bit harsh especially if you’re part of showbusiness in Manila, or you feel insulted if you’re a frequent tagalog movie watcher.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m an avid supporter of everything positive connected to the Philippines. Things like Manny Pacquiao, sports, Philippine Football Team, close family ties. BUT Filipino / Tagalog movies? A BIG NO!
Watching a tagalog movie is a waste of money and time.
I watched Super Noypi in the first week of January out of curiousity to check if the special effects in Philippine movies have improve. What a disappointment. It was like when i was 7 years old during the 80s watching crappy tagalog movies with crappy special effects.
